Many of the herbs, flowers and plants used in our skin care products are grown on our biodynamic* farm in the Adelaide Hills. With its unpolluted environment, Mediterranean climate and rich soil, our farm is the optimum environment to produce the most potent herbs and botanicals. We grow a variety of plants and flowers including Lavender, Rose, Marshmallow, Licorice and Calendula. We’ve also planted over 10,000 native trees to assist with our biodynamic* accreditation and to improve our environment.
Our practices are organic, biodynamic* and sustainable
This means that our farm enriches the Earth rather than depleting it. Conventional farming relies on a variety of synthetic inputs, such as fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides, which strip the soil of organic carbon. Organic farming focuses on natural inputs and methods such as crop rotation, compost and green manure to increase organic matter in the soil and sustainably provide plant nutrition. This method of farming allows us to improve plant health and immunity, and manage pests and diseases without the use of inorganic chemicals.
Biodynamics goes a step beyond organic farming to focus on how the rhythms of nature can have positive effects on the crops we grow. In biodynamic farming, the soil is considered a living entity. By following biodynamic principles, we aim to encourage healthy, well-structured soil on our farm that’s high in biological activity. Farming activities are planned where possible to coordinate with the cycles of the sun, moon, planets and stars. This helps create optimal conditions for plants to thrive.
